The newly retitled Boat International Design & Innovation Awards took place on Sunday 28 January 2018 in Kitzbühel, Austria. There were in total 8 awards in several categories for HISWA Holland Yachting Group members Oceanco, Heesen Yachts, Feadship, Royal Huisman and Vitters Shipyard. A remarkable point: the members received half of the total number of design awards this year.
The Boat International Design & Innovation Awards were specifically devised to judge and recognise the designers responsible for the individual elements of a superyacht. Aspects of the most impressive yachts launched in the preceding calendar year are scrutinised and judged by a panel of design experts. While the World Superyacht Awards recognises superyachts in their entirety, the Boat International Design & Innovation Awards focuses directly on the fundamental design aspects of superyacht design such as naval architecture, exterior design and interior layout, and brings the specialist design skills of the industry’s most talented teams into the spotlight.
