The Experience & Innovation Centre of Bolidt, specialist in synthetic applications, has reached its highest point of construction right on schedule. Contractors De Vries en Verburg Bouw B.V. from Stolwijk placed a structure for technical installations at a height of exactly 15 metres. The next building phase will involve the installation of cladding on the exterior of the centre.
Even for an experienced contracting firm like De Vries en Verburg Bouw B.V., a partner of Bolidt, the construction of the Experience & Innovation Centre is a challenging project. “The main structural challenge for the parties involved is to ensure the stability of all structural components during the building phase,” says Bernhard van Houwelingen, project manager at De Vries en Verburg Bouw. “Whereas all components will be connected in the end, we are currently still relying on temporary auxiliary and supporting structures to keep the building stable.”
In total, the project will require no less than 11,000 man-hours, 7 kilometres of piles, 1,400 m3 of concrete slurry and 525 tonnes of steel.
