Close to 50 years ago Maxwell Marine International was incorporated as a private company in Auckland, New-Zealand under the leadership of a very passionate team and here we are many thousands of tacks/gybes/regattas later and the passion remains throughout our engineers, artisans and sailors who eat, sleep and breath the Maxwell product, one of those talented people is Thijs Boegheim who represents the company and it’s now Dutch owners, in the EMEA region.

Incidentally Thijs is also a speed freak, whether on snow skis, windsurfing or on the road where he can often be seen flying past on his motorbike. The addition of a young family has slowed him down a little however what hasn’t changed is the salt water flowing strong through his veins. As a young one Thijs did spend a lot of time on [and in] the water. After Thijs graduated he has been in and around the marine industry for over 12 years,   initially on the service side and after several positions took the challenging role he is in now.

The same drive that keeps Thijs moving faster (literally) than most, is what helps get the anchoring solutions our clients require. Working on and around the quality of boats we work with is a privilege and also a responsibility taken very seriously.

As the HISWA Holland Yachting Group gears up to celebrate its Golden Jubilee, the association and ten of its leading members will be taking part in the METSTRADE Show from 13 to 15 November. The largest B2B event on the leisure marine calendar is held in the RAI Amsterdam convention centre and includes a dedicated SuperYacht Pavilion spanning three halls.

Members of the HISWA Holland Yachting Group have played their part in all 30 editions to date of the METSTRADE Show, with the role of the large yacht sector at the event becoming increasingly prominent over the decades. This year’s exhibition sees the SuperYacht Pavilion expanded with an extra hall and a dedicated networking hub called the Shipyard. A record number of 313 exhibitors have booked stands, part of the overall METSTRADE Show which is expected to see some 1500 participants welcome around 25,000 visits.

The HISWA Holland Yachting Group bar at stand number 11.509A will be another key meeting place for professionals as it forms the centre of the Holland Pavilion area. It will also provide information on how the association will be marking 50 years of Export Excellence in 2019 as well its ambitious plans to increase the profile of Amsterdam as a superyacht hub.

Six leading companies in their field will have stands in this special HISWA Holland Yachting Group zone, showcasing the latest innovations in their respective fields: Hydromar (hydraulic equipment), Kuiper Marine Panels, Maxwell Marine (anchor winches, capstans and windlasses), Pon Power (official Caterpillar dealer), RH Marine (system integration) and Rondal (spars & rigging, doors and composite products).

Four other specialists will be exhibiting in other locations around the METSTRADE Show, namely Cramm (gangways, cranes, passerelles, doors, hatches, platforms, balconies and boarding ladders), Esthec (decking), Huisfit (refit division of Royal Huisman) and Naiad Dynamics (stabilisers).
