Together we make sailing ambitions a reality… so you can embrace your own personal dream.

The Contest World is one which sailors navigate and enjoy with ease. It is a world into which we at Contest Yachts invite our owners, friends and guests. To share, to travel and adventure, securely, safely in the knowledge that the yacht sailed is well set for such voyaging. Built well, with care, and supported by its constructor throughout its long life, be it first owned, second owned or more.

Arjen Conijn, director of Contest Yachts: 'In Medemblik we have built a knowledgeable, caring full service team that personally supports and serves owners whenever need arises. And with our increasingly international network of agents, help need not be far away. We design and build yachts for people with serious ambition. Ambition needs supporting... and that's what we do, through long lasting relationships, and also through changing ownership.'

Yachts to let you adventure, to fulfil your dreams.
At Contest Yachts we see sailing as a way of determining, expressing your own dreams and ambitions. Which is why we build not just high quality yachts. We build them with each owner’s highly personalised input. Performance yachts well set to sail the world’s oceans and fulfil personal dreams, ambitions, comfortably, safely.

Our yachts are built to enjoy equally coastal, offshore and bluewater exploration. In our half century history we have learned well the responsibilities and requirements of successful long-stay sailing. Using the best of materials, hand crafting and innovative technology, we work closely with each and every owner to design, build and deliver well sorted, strong, light, seakindly, easily handled, performance distance cruisers.

Kick starting the new European sailing season, Contest Yachts have just celebrated their 60 years of fine yacht building with a fantastic transformation of construction hall to big-top party venue for the 180 partying Contest owners joining the anniversary celebrations.

Starting as an Open Day with yard and yacht tours, guests also enjoyed discussion with key suppliers such as Mastervolt, North Sails, Selden, Kuiper Insurance, RobWink watermakers, Rake Rigging and  more. And making a special guest appearance, famed Volvo and America’s Cup sailor Simeon Tienpont provided a peek into the world of high-speed foiling and his new charge, DutchSail 36, which is Holland’s first ever attempt at the Auld Mug, set for the 2021 America’s Cup challenge.

Welcoming guests, Contest Yachts CEO Arjen Conijn said, “In 60 years and three generations of family ownership we have come a long way, but we could not have come this far without our wider Contest family. That family is everyone here and all our many owners and friends from all around the world and with whom for six decades we have been building dreams together. We now look forward to the next 60 years together!”

The celebrations continue through the year with the summer rallies and regattas next:
Sevenstar Contest Cup – 31 May-2 June, Medemblik, Holland
